I got a Lensbaby 2.0 for Christmas, and these are a few of my first attempts to use it!

I got really lucky that a train started coming across the bridge as I was scrambling up the side. I was so excited! It’s my first photo of a train, bridge or not. I did take a couple of shots where you can tell it’s moving, but since I was so close up it didn’t look like much. I like these a lot though.

On my way home from Fort Worth, I crossed Waco Lake in Waco, Texas about 7:30. I looked to the right as I was driving south, and the bridges were beautifully backlit by the setting sun. I have no idea how to get around Waco, so I only found one spot, which was much closer than what I originally wanted. Also, I only had my 50mm lens.
However, after several minutes of driving down a dirt road, walking through bushes, over some kind of pipeline and scrambling up rocks, I realized the bridge I was near had train tracks. Photos of the train up next!

I took some photos for a department at work of high school kids volunteering during a summer camp. They went to Lifeworks, a really cool place that helps high-risk kids and teens. There were several projects going on, and this photo is from one group painting old picnic tables a beautiful blue.

If you squint and lean in so that your nose touches the monitor, you may see a little strike on the far left and a little strike towards the right, above the fence. I promise it is not just a piece of dust on my lens. And I’m still waiting for another storm to practice on!

Cate and I went to Bull Creek on Sunday, and it was a beautiful day for hanging out and sunbathing. We took our dogs, KC and Denali, so they could swim and run around and chase each other. Cate hung her cover-up shirt and shorts on a rock to stay dry, and I liked how the shirt looked. I love the little holes, the textured background of the rock and the depth of field.

I thought I’d start with a nice spring waterfall. Aww, so pretty.
